As a portrait photographer, I don’t photograph many events.   This event, however, was extra special.  The Mansfield and Burr family and friends were there to celebrate the marriage of their loved ones, Steve and Robin.

Steve and Robin were married on June 27 in Naples, FL.  Like most couples they wanted to share their joy by celebrating after their wedding with their family and close friends at Villa Macri in Granger.  I’ve been to Villa Macri for company functions many times and the place is gorgeous. So, when Robin called me for family portraits and some candid shots from the event, I was all in.

This bunch was one of the funniest groups I have ever had the pleasure of photographing.  Laughter was unlimited, along with a memorizing tune from the guitarist and family members that shared their wonderful voices with us.  This group knew how to let loose and have a good time.

At one point I remember a friend of Steve and Robin’s coming to make what we thought was a toast.  He, of course, was up to no good and proceeded to play a little trick on the couple involving a lot of “exes”  and a lot of house keys.  He used his charm to convince some of the staff and ladies at the party to act as if they had been in a relationship with Steve and they were giving him his keys back.  Robin, being the sweet gal she is, laughed it off and shooed them away.  I think everyone’s cheeks were hurting by the end of his “speech”.

And the cake by Kate at C&K Bakery, my goodness, I still can’t get that cake out of my head.  That cake was gorgeous and so so yummy and the Villa Macri food was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.   These people know how to serve.  I can’t say enough good things about everything and everyone we encountered throughout the evening.  I guess when you’re surrounded by good people, good things just happen.

Before Izzy and I knew it, it was time to say goodbye.  The night came quick.  When you’re having fun there is no concept of time.  As we walked to the car, God blessed this beautiful couple with a sunset of praise.  I wasn’t about to walk away without capturing His beautiful art.  Congratulations Steve and Robin. May God bless you with many happy years and a lifetime of love.
