10 Christmas Traditions to Start This Year | Michiana Portrait Photographer

1 – Cut your own Christmas tree.

2 – Collect children’s Christmas books to read each day of the month of December.

3 – Start a 12 days of Christmas Service project.  Every day find some type of service around the neighborhood or community that you can do.

4 – Decorate Gingerbread houses.  You can make these with store bought kits, or assemble graham crackers into little houses.

5 – Write an annual letter reflecting on the past year and keep it inside an ornament.

6 – Take a “pajama picture” of the kids and put it in an ornament to serve as a picture frame.  Watch how the kids change from year to year.

7 – Buy ornaments for your tree as you travel through the year.  When you hang them on the tree, it will bring back memories of your trips.

8 – Let the kids do “indoor ice skating”.  Cover their feet in wax paper and turn on some classical music and let them skate around the carpet.

9 – Read the true Christmas Story.

10 – Pick out gifts to share with the needy.

“Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.

Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That’s fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?

Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.”
