2017 High School Prom | MY Girl Street Team

Prom photos are some of my favorites to shoot.  The girls are always so stunning in their dresses and ready for a night full of dancing and fun.

Our original shoot spot was a bit too soggy after all the rain we had gotten so we headed over to the Goshen Courthouse.  The flowering spring trees made the perfect backdrop for  everyone including Mikayla and her date.  Loving the black dress shirt too.

Anna and Keirsten ditched the heels and rocked their Converse.  Smart choice ladies.

I love Anna’s date, Isaiah’s, pant choice! Can you tell he is a golfer?

The back of Chantell’s dress was so beautiful we had to be sure to get that in a shot.

You normally wouldn’t have matching shoes with your prom date but in Allyson’s case it works!! She looks so pretty, doesn’t she?

I loved Kate’s off the shoulder dress and colorful floral skirt.  Jocelyn is obsessed with anything 50’s so it wasn’t surprising to see her in a pretty 50’s inspired party dress. Her friend Makenna joined her at The Oaks in Mishawaka for their homeschool prom.

Nikala is beautiful in blue as she poses with her friend.

Mikayah was sassy in her black mermaid dress with her friend.

Kaytie + Jon = There’s a baby on the way | Country Strong Events

If you have been following me for any length of time you will see this lovely ladies face pop up a lot.  Kaytie is my beloved hair dresser and friend.  I have been so fortunate to photograph many of her and Jon’s biggest moments in life and I am honored every time.

We headed to Country Strong Events on a snowy but OMG can you get a more stunning backdrop day.  It was a little cold but nothing us Hoosier can’t handle.  I was thrilled with the light fluffy snow.  I mean just look…..

Our furry pal, Bruno, also wanted to show his excitement at getting a new addition in the family.   I love that dog so much.

I couldn’t be more happy for this amazing couple! Congrats Jon and Katie and I can’t wait to capture many more beautiful memories of your family in the years to come.

Kathryn | Class of 2017 | Westview High School

For Kathryn’s  session we started at Country Strong Events and then headed to Middlebury to catch the gorgeous fall colors along the Pumpkinvine Trail.

Kathy(as her friends and family call her) was so excited for her senior pics and to get out in nature. It only makes sense that her fav color is green.

We wanted to be sure to show off Kathy’s sassy side too. Love those shoes! I am guessing between cheering and working at the nursing home as a CNA she doesn’t get too many opportunities to wear them though.

I am so glad I got the opportunity to get to know Kathy.  She has already accomplished so much and I can’t wait to see her be a world changer!

Congrats 2017 Westview Grad!!

***Many thanks to the wonderful Kerri Trapp for doing Hair and Make-Up on this shoot!!

Cody | Class of 2017 | Fairfield High School

Cody and I meet in Downtown Goshen and basically took a stroll and some pics along the way.  Belle (that’s Izzy for some of my readers, yes she decided she wanted to be called Belle instead…whatever, we roll with it) came along as my assistant and helped put Cody in a better mood because we all know how much boys look forward to pictures.  Cody is funny, incredibly smart and talented.  He drew quite the interest when I had him playing his Saxophone in the alleyways.  Hey if you bring an instrument, you’re going to have to play it for me, just a heads up. But Cody is no stranger to performing in front of a crowd.  He is in the Pep Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band,  Marching Band and Show Choir Pit. Cody even got State Champs for Show Choir and Runner Up at State  Finals for Marching Band.

Cody is rarely serious and this just so happened to already be on one of the brick walls in Downtown so we seized the moment.  The Dab…I can’t even remember what move was popular when I graduated but I’m sure there was one.  Anyone else know? 1999, what moves were popular?

Cody is really looking forward to college this fall. He will attend IU Bloomigton to study Game Design. What a cool major.

Congrats Cody on being a part of the Fairfield graduating class of 2017! I know the future holds amazing things for you.

Class of 2018 MY Girl Street Team | Introductions #2 of 2

Brooklyn – FHS

Brooklyn’s strengths are her honesty, loyalty and her sense of fashion. She admires her English teacher Mrs. McGowen for her young, trendy style.

Brooklyn plans on attending IU to pursue a career in the fashion industry. So it’s only natural that in her free time, Brooklyn loves to shop!  She also enjoys hanging out with her boyfriend and friends.

Free time is often hard to find though since Brooklyn is involved in 4-H, Volleyball, Art Honor Society, Ski Club and work.

Her goals in the next couple years are to get good grades, meet new people, go to college and maintain her good sense of style.

She hopes to be remembered for being loyal and caring  20 years from now.

Grace – FHS

Grace shares Brooklyn’s love of fashion and Mrs. McGowen.  Grace really enjoys English and loves to see her teacher’s passion in the classroom.

This driven, determined and chic street team member plans on attending IU to study fashion. Grace loves to research fashion in her free time, shop online, watch old movies, spend time with her boyfriend and at the animal shelter loving on animals(especially cats!).

The biggest obstacle Grace has faced in high school so far is Chemistry(dun, dun, dun). She managed to squeak out a B in the class though and is pretty sure she has Jesus to thank for that.

Grace is a part of 4-H, Student Council, International Culture Club and Ski Club.

Elle Fanning is an inspiration to Grace.  She finds the actress to be “perfect, smart and respectable” and highly underrated.

Grace is planning on spending the remaining time in high school getting the best grades she can and preparing for college.

When asked what she wants to be remembered for in 20 years, Grace responded,”Being hardworking, intelligent, how I helped better at least the world around me and of course being incredibly and timelessly fashionable.”

Madison – FHS

Madison is creative, caring, funny and a good listener. She loves to draw and is involved in Yearbook and Art Honor Society.

Cooking and reading are also some ways that Madison likes to spend her free time. Her fav teacher is Mrs. Davidhizar because she does such a good job listening to her students and their opinions.

Madison works at Pizza Hut and attends youth group.

She is still deciding on her future plans after high school but would love to travel.

In 20 years, Madison wants to be remembered for being a good friend and a nice person.

Nikala – Northwood High

Nikala has a passion for helping others and is considering pursuing ministry work full-time after graduating. She has been on mission trips thru Impact Missions and is very involved in her youth group. Nikala also helps the  elderly with jobs they need done but can’t do themselves.

Tiny Hands International is a Christ centered organization that Nikala feels very strongly about. The ministry saves and rehabilitates girls who are sold into human trafficking across the Mexico border, in Nepal and in India.

Florence Nightingale is Nikala’s inspiration. She loves how Florence had the courage and determination to change the system and saved lives doing it.

You will find Nikala at Northwood football and basketball games because of her involvement in Sports Medicine.

Nikala enjoys history and is an adventure seeker, a good listener and likes to read and watch movies. She struggles with anxiety but is able to manage it through help and faith.

Mrs. “Kranny ” is her favorite teacher because of how she makes even the most boring topics come to life and gets her students involved.

Nikala wants to be remembered for caring for people on a personal level.

Jocelyn – Homeschooled

Jocelyn’s goal was to graduate early as a sophomore with the class of 2018 but she ended up finishing even earlier and completed her studies as a 2017 grad.

While in school, her favorite teacher was her mom, because, well, that was her only teacher. Her mom is also her inspiration because she is responsible and slow to anger.

If Jocelyn could use 3 words to describe herself it would be “Devoted to Christ”.  She is very outgoing and involved in her youth group at Grace Community Church.

Shopping with friends and reading are a couple of things Jocelyn enjoys doing. Biology was her fav course in school. She thought the study of creation vs evolution was extremely interesting.

Jocelyn plans on working during the upcoming year and getting her license and a car. Then she will attend Ivy Tech in the fall of 2018 to get her degree in Pastry Arts. She hopes to one day open her own Cupcakery.

In 20 years she wants to be remembered for her faith.  Jocelyn wants people to say,”Jocelyn? That girl who really loves Jesus?”
