Flower Meanings | Mother’s Day

Since flowers are such a staple gift for Mother’s Day, it makes it even more meaningful if the flowers say something too!

Everyone knows that red roses mean love, but there are actually flowers that are holiday-specific as well as person-specific, such as the

  • Pink Carnation

Pink carnations are meant to show “love of a woman or a mother,” which would literally be the perfect choice. Red carnations symbolize love in general, which would make such a pretty arrangement.

  • Amaryllis

Since Mother’s Day is all about celebrating everything wonderful about your mother, an amaryllis symbolizes “splendid beauty” or “worth beyond beauty,” which is exactly what your mother deserves. 🙂

  • Sunflower

These can actually mean a few things, those being, “adoration and dedication,” as well as “dedicated love” to be more specific.

  • Honeysuckle

Another flower meant to symbolize love for another, is white so it will go great with any other flowers. They may be hard to find in an arrangement, but going the extra mile to plant some will definitely mean something to your mother. 🙂
